This course teaches the student several manual mold creation techniques and how to use the mold tools in SolidWorks mechanical design automation software.
Prerequisites:
To ensure a consistent learning experience for all students, we have established the following prerequisites for the training course:
- SolidWorks Essentials
- SolidWorks Advanced Part Modeling
Course Materials:
The SolidWorks Mold Design training guide will be supplied at the beginning of class and is yours to keep.

- Multiple Parting Lines
- Parting Lines and Shut-off Surfaces
- Repairs and Surfaces
- Using Surfaces for Mold Design
- Reusable Designs
- Alternate Methods of Mold Design
- Making a Complete Mold
At Course Completion:
The student will gain an understanding of the different mold tools available within the core SolidWorks product. A greater understanding of methods to create tools with multiple parting directions, fixing geometry to be used for mold tooling, and other advanced topics geared to mold design tools within SolidWorks.
